We’ll also share what other Clubs are doing. Denver is one of the founding ND Women Connect Chapters, along with Chicago, D.C., and Detroit.

All ND and SMC alumnae are invited. Current students, moms, and alumni wives are also welcome to attend!

| Summary: |
Monday evening, thirty ladies in Denver's ND Family connected, connected, and brainstormed. Our Club president, Gary Montes de Oca, also joined us to show his support and Ceyl spoke about the origins and vision of NDWC. We're now in the crucial time of looking at everyone's surveys and determining teams and leadership of our six programming foci and operations. We have a real love for women authors here with an event scheduled for this fall and in the tradition of our 2008 event -- ND Women Connect presents: She Writes Admist Us.

Recap of ND Women Connect Lenten Retreat and Luncheon
Denver’s ND ladies connected again for spiritual discussion and reflection for a women's Lenten retreat and lunch at Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL) Catholic Parish. On Saturday, February 27, ND alumnae joined about 75 women at the retreat with the theme of “forgiveness.” An ND Spouse, Parent, and friend also attended.
The speaker, Kathy McGovern, MA '86, formerly of the Catholic Biblical School and the Most Precious Blood Parish School, said that forgiving others and oneself is perhaps the hardest thing to do, but Lent is a time of light to focus on this. She highly recommended “The Forgiveness Book: A Catholic Approach” by Alice Camille and Paul Boudreau.
McGovern posed the hypothetical, “What’s the alternative to not forgiving?” She answered by saying that forgiveness is the only way, it’s possible, and it has to be chosen or healing doesn’t begin. She added, "God is the God of second chances."
Many thanks to Beth Bonczek-Stoffel, MBA ‘94 for suggesting that the ND women join the OLOL retreat.
The Denver Club is proud to join Chicago, Detroit, and Washington, D.C. as one of the four founding clubs for ND Women Connect, an initiative of the ND Alumni Association. Visit NDWC on the NDAA's webpage at http://womenconnect.undgroup.org/site/c.rlI3IeNVJuE/b.4806389/k.BFBB/Home.htm .
